OXFORD United have signed teenage striker Harvey Bradbury to play for their new under-23 side.

The 19-year-old, the son of former U’s front man Lee, joins on a free transfer from Watford, where he has spent the last 12 months.

He said: "I watched my dad play at Oxford when I was really small and he has told me plenty of times what a good club it is.

"I am a different sort of player to him, although we are both forwards, but the aim has to be to come here, train hard, score goals and hopefully get my chance with the first team.”

Bradbury came up against Karl Robinson’s side last month, when he scored on loan for Hungerford Town in a pre-season friendly.

It is likely he will return on loan to the Berkshire club this season.

He scored twice in five starts on loan for St Albans City in the Vanarama National League South last season and before joining the Hornets spent three years in Portsmouth’s youth set-up.
