ZAC McEachran has been selected to join a training camp at Jamie Vardy’s V9 Academy next month.
The midfielder, who picked up three awards at Banbury United’s end of season dinner, is one of 42 non-league players to receive the invitation.
It will see him attend a five-day course held at Manchester City’s Etihad Campus, starting on June 5.
The aim is to unearth non-league talent and promote them to the professional game, following Vardy’s footsteps from Stocksbridge Park Steels to winning the Premier League with Leicester City.
A statement on the Puritans website said: “Ultimately this is an exciting opportunity for players like Zac to try to follow in Jamie Vardy’s footsteps and to develop their football skills.
“The club wishes him well and hopes that he enjoys the experience.”
McEachran and his fellow intake will be evaluated and given a development plan on how to progress their career.
It will be part of a Sky Sports documentary, with a crew filming him playing for Banbury in March.
