MATT Goode crossed twice as Banbury RFC kick-started their Midlands 2 West (South) campaign with a 24-20 win over Spartans at Bodicote.
Banbury opened up a 7-0 lead when Josh Deegan went over for a converted score.
The visitors levelled, before winger Joe Mills dived over for an unconverted try.
However, Spartans went into the break 15-12 ahead, thanks to a try and a drop goal.
Goode then dived over twice in the second half to help seal the four-try bonus point, Pickle converting both scores.
Spartans grabbed an unconverted try before the final whistle, but the hosts were still able to secure victory.
Banbury, who are third in the table after the first round of fixtures, welcome Barkers Butts to Bodicote on Saturday.
The Coventry-side drew 14-14 with Pinley last weekend.
