OXFORD United have been rewarded for their Capital One Cup exploits with a game against Premier League opposition later this month.
After knocking out Bristol City 2-1 on Tuesday night, the U’s have been drawn away to West Bromwich Albion in the second round.
It will be a return to the Hawthorns for head coach Michael Appleton, chief executive Mark Ashton and director Michael O’Leary, who have all worked for the Baggies in the past.
Ashton felt it was a great draw.
He said: “The players and fans deserved to go to a Premier League club after their magnificent efforts on Tuesday night.
“West Brom are a very well supported club and we don’t budget for anything beyond the first round of cup competitions, so whatever we earn will be a bonus.”
The tie will be played in the week commencing Monday, August 25.
