Tetsworth's Jeffrey Rogers has been handed a five-year ban by the Oxfordshire Cricket Association after trouble at a match earlier this summer.

A disciplinary panel found Rogers and teammate Reggie Isaac, as well as Winslow’s Harry Bishop guilty after what the league describe as an ‘altercation’ when the sides met on July 6.

Both sides have also been sternly warned about any future misdemeanours.

At the time, the umpires abandoned the match and awarded Tetsworth victory, but following the appeal, the league decided neither team would be given any points.

“The disciplinary panel found cases proven of ECB Code of Conduct Level 4 (b) offence (physical assault of another player, umpire, official or spectator) against Jeffrey Rogers and Reggie Isaac (Tetsworth) and Harry Bishop (Winslow) following altercation on the field of play,” the league’s statement read.

“The panel further issued an indefinite final written warning to Tetsworth CC as to their future conduct, and a written warning to Winslow Town as to their future conduct.

“Jeffrey Rogers (is given a) five-year suspension from all OCA League cricket.

“This was due to being found guilty of Level 4 offence and taking into account previous disciplinary record.

“Reggie Isaac (is given a) ten-match suspension from OCA League cricket, starting this Saturday.

“Harry Bishop (is given a) six-match suspension with a further four matches suspended until the end of the 2014 season, starting on the opening day of the 2014 season.

“Although umpires awarded the match to Tetsworth, the disciplinary panel further decided that zero points were to be awarded to both teams, although the league table will reflect the award of the match to Tetsworth.

“The OCA disciplinary panel will make no further comment relating to this matter.”

Tetsworth also declined to comment when contacted by the Oxford Mail.
