ALFIE Potter is gunning for more recognition this season after missing out on August’s player of the month award.
The winger was shortlisted in Sky Bet League Two, but Chesterfield’s Gary Roberts got the nod.
Potter began September with a stunning goal in last weekend’s 2-0 win at Burton Albion and will be hoping to push his claims further with another strong display against Cheltenham on Saturday.
The 24-year-old was quick to acknowledge the role his teammates had played, but is keen for more recognition.
He said: “It’s thanks to the team that we’ve won games and I have got the nomination.
“Hopefully it is the first of a few this season.
“I don’t want to leave it at that, I need to be consistent and put in performances week-in, week-out.”
