Oxfordshire athletes Christian von Eitzen and Simi Fajemisin, who won gold at the English Schools’ Track & Field Championships in July, go for more glory at the Sainsbury's School Games in Sheffield over the next four days.

Von Eitzen, who lives at Abingdon, tackles the 800m, while Fajemisin, from Horton-cum-Studley, is in the long jump.

They are among nine Oxon competitors at the event.

Discus thrower Kathryn Woodcock, from Abingdon, and javelin throwers Tom Anstice, of Kidlington, and Banbury’s Megan Moran, also represent the Midlands in athletics.

Bicester swimmer Caitlin Wheatley goes in the 200m butterfly for England East, while Oxford’s Jonathan Ballance is in the England Central boys’ volleyball team.

Kidlington’s Olivia Jones and Bicester’s Tilly Vaughan-Fowler represent England South West in the girls’ rugby sevens.
