Oxfordshire Senior League

A 40-YARD lob from Kieron Schmidt was the highlight as Premier Division leaders Oakley United stretched their winning streak to five games with a 5-1 victory at home to Garsington.

Nick Gurney’s strike separated the sides at the break, but the hosts went on to complete a comfortable win in the second half.

Schmidt scored twice, including one from long range, while James Keeble and Paul Brown also found the net. Jamie Debanks pulled one back for Garsington.

Adderbury Park made it three wins out of three with a 2-1 victory at Oxford University Press.

All the goals came in the final 15 minutes, with Junior Howard’s quickfire double earning the points, despite Jimmy Gray responding for the hosts.

A strong second half display saw Bletchingdon win 3-0 at Marston Saints.

Craig Hanlon’s 47th-minute header broke the deadlock and the visitors went on to seal the points with goals from Andrew McMahon and Andy White.

Craig Pitson’s 20-yard free-kick put Horspath ahead at Oxford Irish, but missed chances proved costly for the visitors.

Lewis Vaughan levelled for Irish within five minutes of going behind, tapping in after Horspath failed to clear their lines.

James Watkins came off the bench to earn a point for Mansfield Road in a 1-1 home draw with Launton Sports.

Jack Meeks had slotted the visitors in front.

Paul Kovac and Peter Hall shared four goals as North Oxford hammered Enstone Sports 8-1 in Division 1.

Jono Harris, Steve Maloney, Michael Bentley and Dale Cameron were also on target, while Daniel Cox scored the visitors’ only goal.

Seventeen-year-old George Greening scored twice to wrap up a 6-2 win for Eynsham at home to Watlington.

Tom McCudden, Will Morris, Liam Botcherby and an own goal gave the hosts a 4-0 lead before the interval.

Pete Ashman and Allan Stevenson responded to give Watlington hope, but Greening settled the game.

Jamie Fisher’s goal was the difference as Kidlington Res won 3-2 at neighbours Kidlington Old Boys.

Kevin Pike and Julius Muraga put the visitors in charge, before Mark Nichols pulled a goal back.

Fisher made it 3-1, which proved critical as Arron Ainsworth struck late on for Old Boys.

The first game of the season in Division 2 ended in a 3-3 draw between Adderbury Park Res and Bletchingdon Res.

Park, who had Lee Emery sent off in the final minute, led three times thanks to Lee Timms’s brace and a goal from Ash Wingrove, but each time Bletchingdon replied.

Darren King, Steve Doyle and Tom Williams were on target.
