Need to fill the gaps with our injuries & players going back to their clubs."

Oxford United miss out on Cox

Lee Cox will not be returning to Oxford United Lee Cox will not be returning to Oxford United

Oxford United's hopes of keeping Lee Cox have ended after they were unable to agree a deal with Swindon Town.

The midfielder spent the first half of the season with the U's on a loan deal which expired after Tuesday's 1-0 win over Cheltenham Town.

Both Cox and United were keen to arrange another spell to cover the rest of the campaign, but nothing has come from talks this week.

U's boss Chris Wilder said: "That's one that won't be getting extended.

"There's always quite a lot of complexities in terms of making a deal happen, so I've spoken to Lee and wished him all the best."
