Two new teams thanks to bank Two new teams thanks to bank

A WEST Oxfordshire sports and social club has set up two new teams for a popular pub game, thanks to a cash boost from a bank.

Hook Norton Sports and Social Club was able to buy new Aunt Sally equipment with the help of £250, donated by NatWest.

Club member Rebecca Watts — who works as a business development manager at a branch in Banbury — won a NatWest community cashback award in recognition of her role on the fundraising committee and grounds maintenance team.

As well as Aunt Sally teams, the club is home to Hook Norton football, tennis, cricket, harriers, and youth clubs.

Ms Watts, who is also a tennis coach, said: “It’s great that NatWest is continuing to support my community involvement in this way. When you give up your own time it is nice to know that your employer is willing to give you a helping hand.”

The scheme pays out awards ranging from £100 to £1,000 to individual employees and teams who make a difference to their communities. £250 is awarded to those who are involved in the leadership or management of an organisation.

Over the past ten years, the bank has donated more than £2,400 through the scheme to Hook Norton Sports and Social Club.

Colette Warner, from the club, added: “We’re delighted that NatWest has recognised Rebecca’s activities with our club once again.

“Kind donations like the one from NatWest make all the difference to us and.

“In this case, it has enabled us to purchase the equipment needed to set up two new Aunt Sally teams.”
