LANCASHIRE County League side Stand notched their second consecutive Lancashire County League win at Thornham on Saturday.

Sam Brooks (36) and Alex Bell (107) got the Whitefield side’s innings off to a solid start before Andy Holt consolidated it with a run-a-ball half century.

Once Holt went for 55, sharing a 95-run stand with Bell, the stage was set for a cameo innings from Pete Walters.

He did not disappoint, bringing up his half century in 33 balls, before falling on the last ball of the innings for 69, 48 of which came in the way of boundaries before Stand closed on a formidable 290-4.

The home side’s reply started slowly, but, as the innings progressed, all the Thornham top order got starts without capitalising, finishing on 220-7 after 50 overs.
