A PAEDOPHILE will have to wait another month to find out if he will be jailed for possessing indecent images.

Michael Wright, of Andersey Way, Abingdon kept his head bowed in the dock at Oxford Crown Court yesterday as Judge Maria Lamb decided to adjourn sentencing to allow for probation to finish its report yesterday.

The 50-year-old, dressed in a checked shirt and leather jacket, had admitted earlier this month to six counts of making indecent images, one count of possessing images of children and one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image.

Sophia Wood, defending Wright, asked Judge Lamb to adjourn his sentencing to allow for probation to finish their report and for a potential second interview with a psychiatrist.

Judge Lamb said: “We are talking about a significant number of images here.

“We will adjourn until the 21st April so that the probation service can finish its report.

“I want you to understand it is very important that the court has this information on you ready to sentence you but this does not give any suggestions as to what will be decided in terms of your sentence next month.

He was released on conditional bail and he will be sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on Friday, April 21.
