Volunteers from the reading charity ARCh were thanked for their contribution to helping youngsters read.

The organisation recruits, trains and supports volunteers in primary schools across Oxfordshire, where they help children who have trouble reading.

At a ceremony yesterday 100 volunteers from across the county were honoured for giving up their time to help.

Former Banbury MP Sir Tony Baldry attended to pay tribute to them.

ARCh volunteers are asked te give up an hour and a half a week, twice a week during term time and attend two training sessions each year.
