THE man killed in Banbury today has been named locally as Kyle Byfield.

A man and a woman were still being held tonight on suspicion of murder after the 23-year-old's death.

Police were called at 7.58am today following a report of a man being injured at a property in Jubilee Court.

Thames Valley Police said the victim, a man in his 20s from Banbury, was taken to Horton General Hospital with “puncture wounds” but later died.

Neighbour Joy Williams, 71, said her husband Thomas, 43, had heard shouting when he went out to walk their dog before work.

She said: “There was shouting at about half six and I went back to bed and got woken up at half 8.

“The police came and knocked on my door asking me what was going on but I didn’t know what was going on.

“I’m quite shocked, the whole thing is crazy, it’s terrible what has happened.”

Det Supt Chris Ward said: “We were called this morning to reports of an incident within the property in Jubilee Court.

“Sadly the man who was injured has died in hospital.

“This is not believed to be a random incident.

“We are currently at the very early stages of this investigation and are in process of determining the exact circumstances which led to the victim’s death.”
