He said: “It has taken me 25 minutes to move a quarter of a mile from my house, along Kennington Road to the dual carriageway between Kennington and Hinksey Hill.

“The county council should not have started roadworks on London Road in Headington at the same time as the Kennington roundabout.

“I never expected to get so many responses and it would appear that I struck a chord since 99 per cent of people have agreed with my sentiments.

“It will undoubtedly speed up the traffic when the Kennington roundabout is made a hamburger design, but the council is taking too long to complete it.

“Thousands of people are being made late for work and that is costing businesses.

“The council is blowing its own trumpet for postponing the work at The Plain as if it is some kind of genius idea but it should not have started so many schemes at the same time.”
