A scrap metal yard worker has avoided jail after a shotgun, stun gun and pepper spray were found in his home.
Tommy Smith, of Bloxham Road, Bloxham, was yesterday handed a 12-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work.
The 37-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing prohibited weapons and one count of having a shotgun without a licence.
Police made the discovery after they had also raided the scrapyard Smiths of Bloxham, in Milton, near Banbury, on March 29, 2012.
