Firms bidding to buy rail franchise to sue

Companies vying for the Great Western rail franchise are suing the Government for their bid costs after the competition was postponed and First Group’s existing contract was extended until 2014.

FirstGroup, Stagecoach, Arriva and National Express made bids to run the network, connecting Oxfordshire with London and the South West.
