Man accused of child rape

A man has gone on trial at Oxford Crown Court accused of child sex abuse and rape.

David Manning, of Forgeway, Banbury, faces two counts of sexual abuse and eight counts of rape, relating to a child who cannot be named for legal reasons.

He also faces two counts of sexually abusing another child, who also cannot be named.

The 45-year-old denies the charges, alleged to have taken place between 2009 and 2011.

The trial, which started yesterday, is expected to last until Friday.
