Olympic fiasco firm moves to new base
1:00pm Saturday 12th January 2013 in Headlines
A DIVISION of controversial staffing firm G4S is moving its headquarters operation to Banbury.
G4S hit the headlines in the summer when it was criticised for failing to adequately supply more than 10,000 security staff for the London 2012 Olympics.
Now up to 120 staff from its integrated services arm are to move from their current base at Broadway in Worcestershire to a new office at Banbury Business Park.
The division administers staff on contracts including transport, catering and cleaning.
A further 20 workers will come from the company’s care and justice services and regional procurement divisions.
Bosses say some jobs may be created if staff decide against moving.
Bob Taylor, managing director of G4S Integrated Services, said: “The timing is also right for us, as several other G4S businesses will be moving and it makes much more sense for us to be consolidating our office accommodation.
“The new premises will offer lots of advantages for our staff, with improved facilities, more space, and better transport links to London and key clients.”
He added: “We have consulted all affected staff about the plans and are helping them with any transport issues and investigating flexible working arrangements.
“We have reassured them that there will be no planned redundancies associated with this decision.”
The move is expected to be completed in May next year.

This company should be barred from doing business, and its Directors banned from running another business. In addition to the Olympics massive fiasco, Group4's woeful track-record in prison and associated security provision speaks for itself - yet people in authority still back the Company and allow it to operate. Must have some powerful friends?
Evidently myron (according to the G4S website) you are wrong, and they are the World's leaders in their field.
