THE mounted section of Thames Valley Police could be scrapped to help the force cope with funding cuts.
The force will look at the possibility of removing the mounted section used for public order at football matches or demonstrations as part of budget proposals.
A police spokeswoman told the BBC scrapping the unit was one of three options being considered.
The possibility of scrapping the mounted section and other cost saving measures will be discussed at a budget meeting on January 23.
