A man who threatened to firebomb a woman’s car and sent her a picture of a petrol pump captioned “Night night as Johnny Cash said burn” has avoided jail during sentencing.

Benjamin Golding, 40, of London Road, Blewbury, admitted harassing hairdresser Chelsea Churchman at her home in Blewbury on May 31. He also admitted driving past her house repeatedly while making threatening hand gestures.

On August 13, Oxford Magistrates’ Court gave him a four-month sentence suspended for 24 months and made a restraining order to last until August 12, 2017.

Magistrates also ordered Golding to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge, £85 costs and a £150 criminal courts charge.
