Oxford Mail:

Singer songwriter John Lydon, aka Johnny Rotten, was at the Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford, talking about his new book, Anger is an Energy, this week. Marc West produced a great set a pictures but this one stood out to me.

Lydon’s ability to pull a variety of rubbery expressions accompanied by his mini mohawk always brings a smile to my face and makes me wonder what he was thinking as he was looking down Westy’s lens... probably better not to ask!

Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary is spending around £70,000 on new kennels for dogs. Ed Nix went down and met Assistant Warden Aaron Denton and four-year-old Monty the St Bernard. The pair posed in one of the kennels that are to be replaced and, as I’m a total sucker for animals, I couldn’t resist Monty’s beautiful face – I had to include this image.

This cracking image made the front page of the Oxford Mail on Friday last week. Jon Lewis visited the Oxford Playhouse while they were in rehearsals for the show Hurry Up, Father Christmas! To get the big man and his elf reflected in the bauble so clearly is no mean feat, but Jon came up with the goods. By using a long lens to blur out the background and
off-camera flash to light the subjects’ faces from the front, he has managed to make quite a tricky shot look simple.

Oxford Mail:

This is such a great picture. Andrew Walmsley captured Eliza Fraser, from the Oxford Playhouse, in a fit of laughter when promoting their panto, Beauty and the Beast. I have no idea what had tickled her, but it certainly brings a smile to my face when I look at it!

Oxford Mail:

This image of a cross country runner at Harcourt Hill was captured by Damien Halliwell last Sunday. The athlete in his bright running gear is a stark contrast to the bare trees and dead leaves on the ground around him. Damien has bent down low to shoot this and has produced a really lovely alternative sports picture.
