OXFORD United have found a new operator at short notice to run their special buses to the Kassam Stadium for tomorrow's game against Gillingham.

But the club urgently needs fans to come forward to volunteer as fare collectors on the services, which will be run by Tappins Coaches after RH Transport stopped operating yesterday.

The club are urging as many fans as possible to use the bus services, laucnhed at the start of the season in August and to come along and show their support.

Business development manager Owen Clark said: "Although we were saddened to hear the news from RH, we know that the buses have been very popular with supporters and we have been working flat out to find a solution that would allow fans to get here for such a big game.

"Tappins have very kindly stepped in at very short notice and we thank them for their help and support."

Tappins coaches, displaying the Oxford United badge, will pick up supporters from the usual bus stops at the advertised times.

But Mr Clark said the club needed fans to come forward to collect fares from fellow supporters, as the drivers will not be able to do so.

Supporters boarding the buses in Banbury, Chipping Norton, Carterton, Wantage, Henley, Thame or Grovelands who wish to help, in return for free travel to and from the match, should email cwilliams@oufc.co.uk or call 01865 337533.
