Drivers faced severe delays on the southbound M40 yesterday morning after a lorry caught fire.
The blaze happened on the hard shoulder between junction 11 at Banbury and junction 10 at Ardley at about 6.35am.
Two lanes had to be closed and traffic tailed back for about eight miles while the fire was dealt with and the lorry moved.
A Highways Agency spokesman said the road was reopened by 1.45pm.
