Cannabis haul at industrial estate
4:32pm Friday 14th September 2012 in News
Sgt David Atherton
ALMOST 1,000 cannabis plants were found at a North Oxfordshire industrial estate yesterday.
The landlord of the unit at Banbury Business Park, Aynho Road, Adderbury, let police in after another tenant reported smelling the drug at about 10.30am.
Sgt Dave Atherton said he believed the operation – including a watering system – had been active for about three months and could take up to 3,000 plants.
He said: “I have 10 years experience and this is the biggest one I have come across.
“It is a well organised, well planned, commercial set-up rather than something somebody would have in their bedroom for personal consumption.”
No arrests have been made. Sgt Atherton said: “We have active lines of inquiry to follow as to who may be involved.”
Anyone with information can call the force on 101.
