A group from London rowed through Oxfordshire on a 140-mile journey down the River Thames to raise money for a new ventilator for St George’s Hospital in Tooting.
The eight rowers from St George’s Hospital Boat Club started in Lechlade last month and rowed to Putney in five days.
Dean Ella, a third-year medical student from St George's Hospital, said: “Initially this was our idea of a crazy holiday. However, we soon realised we could use this to benefit the hospital which is training us.
“Our target is £10,000. So far we have raised £5,000 but we still see our target as very achievable.”
