A DECADES-old model of the former Rewley Road train station building goes on display this weekend, for one of the last times.

The 4mm scale model will be on show at Oxford Town Hall from 10am to 4pm today and tomorrow.

The 1970s model has been shown throughout the county over the years but will take a bow at a show later this month.

It was built by Oxford Model Railway Club, whose spokesman Glyn Roberts said: β€œIt is now in excess of 35-years-old, but train movements still run on this exhibit, and of course buildings and infrastructure are all accurate.”

The station was dismantled and re-erected at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre near Aylesbury in 1999.

The site is now Said Business School.

The model will go on show for the final time at the United Reform Church in Collinwood Road, Risinghurst, on Saturday, September 22.
