Free maths and English for adults
12:10pm Friday 7th September 2012 in News
ADULTS in Oxfordshire have the chance to improve their basic qualifications with free county council-run courses in English and maths.
The courses are available to any Oxfordshire resident above the age of 19 and cover all abilities, from beginners to GCSE level.
GCSE English and maths courses start on Monday and there is still time to book a place.
Classes will be held across the county at venues in Oxford, Abingdon, Didcot, Bicester, Carterton and Banbury.
Cabinet member for education Melinda Tilley said: “Taking one of these courses could help improve your job prospects or help in the job you are in at the moment.”
The English and maths programme as a whole, excluding the GCSE courses, starts in the week beginning Monday, October 1.
