A west Oxfordshire man has been given a 12 month community punishment order and ordered to pay £150 in costs after admitting to fraudulently obtaining more than £11,000 in benefits.
Paul Brenchley, 53, formerly of Kingsgate, Aston, pleaded guilty to three counts of failing to notify West Oxfordshire District Council and the Department of Work and Pensions that he was working as a vice president of a company.
During this time he fraudulently obtained £11,711.71 — £4,752.96 in housing benefit, £915.07 in council tax benefits and £6,043.68 in incapacity benefit.
Part of Brenchley’s punishment means he will have to undergo 100 hours of unpaid work.
