Four school pupils have been honoured with awards for their "bravery" after aiding an unconscious woman.

David Johnston, MP for Wantage and Didcot, presented Local Hero Awards to the Hendreds Church of England School pupils.

Year six pupils Toby Cockett, George McDermaid, Alfie Necchi-Ghiri, and Evalyn Atkins, were playing in a park when they found an unconscious woman and acted quickly to find help for her.

Headteacher Lisa Rees said: "Thank you to David Johnston MP for recognising the bravery of Toby, George, Alfie, and Evalyn.

"They went out of their way to assist a person in need of help and are a great example to other pupils."

David Johnston MP added: "I was delighted to present well-deserved Local Hero Awards to Toby, George, Alfie and Evalyn.

"Thanks to their quick-thinking and bravery they managed to secure help for someone in need."
