Plans have been lodged for a new car park, toilets and changing room in the hope they will encourage people to make use of an empty football pitch.

Applicant Chinnor Parish Council wants more people to use the sports ground facility at Old Kiln Lakes in Chinnor, which itself was granted planning permission in 2015.

The surrounding area is widely used for walks with its "pleasant countryside trail".

A planning paper states: "By improving the existing area of hard standing to create a car park it will enable matches to be arranged with visiting football teams and also make it more accessible for the less mobile and wheelchair users.

"Change of use and installation of a football pitch was granted in 2015 and subsequently installed.

"However it has not been utilised as there are no changing facilities or public car parking on site."

Proposals would see an additional eight spaces added to car parking at Old Kiln Lakes as well as the installation of a small modular building for use as a changing room with toilets.

A new building would provide a cloakroom and changing facilities and two toilets with one being combined with disabled facilities.

Basic kitchen facilities would also be provided.

Measurement area for the site is 78sqm and it consists of former chalk pits on public open space used for excavation.
