THE cause of death of a man stabbed during an incident in Oxford has been revealed during an inquest opening.

Tobias Bruce, who lived in Arthray Road, Oxford, was stabbed during an incident in College Lane, Littlemore, at around 6.05pm on Sunday, February 25.

The 32-year-old, who was a mobile manager at a shoe repair shop, was hospitalised as a result alongside a 28-year-old man.

During an inquest opening earlier this month at Oxford Coroner’s Court, it was heard Mr Bruce has sustained significant injuries following ‘an altercation’.

He was taken to hospital but despite medical treatment, he died on February 28.

His medical cause of death has been given at ‘multiple sharp force injuries'.

No date has yet been set for a full inquest into his death because the incident is still being investigated by police.

Four people have been arrested in relation to the double stabbing incident with three suspects bailed and one released without further action as police continue to investigate.

Details about Mr Bruce’s past have since emerged including incidents which saw him jailed for a series of burglaries, drug crimes, assaulting a police officer as well as kidnapping an escort and her boyfriend before holding them hostage for ransom.

Through the police, his family released a statement reading: “Tobias at times has not always made the right choices in life, however my love as his mum has and always will be unconditional, it has never faltered.”
