A bank in Banbury is set for a temporary closure to undergo refurbishments.

The HSBC branch will be closed form Monday, March 11 until Tuesday, April 9.

The refresh includes a new coat of paint, updated signage and the installation of state-of-the-art cash machines.

Local director Sharon Hoare said: “We continue to invest in our branch network to make our customers’ experience banking with us a good one.

"We are pleased that our Banbury branch is getting a refresh.

Ahead of the temporary closure, customers have been informed and have other options for their banking needs.

Mobile and online banking services will be available round-the-clock, and customers also have the option of using their nearest post office for daily transactions.

Clients can reach out to the bank's contact centre with the number provided at the back of their credit or debit cards.

HSBC will also be hosting community pop-up events.

During the renovation period, pop-up branches will be open at Banbury Library on Marlborough Road from 10am to 4pm on several dates.

These are March 14, 15, 19, 22, 26, 27, and April 3.

Brackley and Chipping Norton town halls will also host a couple of pop-up events from 10am to 3pm on March 21 and 28 in Brackley, and March 18 and 25 in Chipping Norton.

The closest permanent HSBC branch at 126 The Parade, Leamington Spa, remains open for customers.
