A NURSERY in Oxford has gained Ofsted's top standard in one aspect of its care.
The Slade Early Years Centre and Day Nursery in Headington was rated 'outstanding' for children's personal development, behaviour and welfare.
It secured the achievement as part of a wider report this week, which rated it 'good' in all other areas and 'good' overall.
The report stated: "Staff are highly successful at ensuring that children are settled, happy and confident at nursery.
"Younger children show exceptional levels of independence.
"The opportunities to learn and play alongside older children allow them to watch and learn new skills.
"The manager deploys staff so that children are always cared for by staff who know them well and can meet their individual needs."
The nursery was inspected in August and had 33 children on roll at the time.
