THE Flying Scotsman is set to return to the county today after its flying visit last week.

The famous locomotive is scheduled to head through Bicester, Oxford and Didcot, during its journey from London Paddington and London Victoria this afternoon.

The steam train will be pulling 12 coaches and is expected to pass through Bicester at 2.09pm before arriving at Oxford Parkway Station at 2.24pm.

It will take a 20 minute pitstop before setting off again at 2.44pm and reaching Oxford at 2.51pm, and through Didcot at 3.01pm.

It comes less than a week after trainspotters were waiting in their droves up and down the county last Thursday for a glimpse of the engine's first visit of the summer.

Crowds turned out in Bicester as the Flying Scotsman passed London Road level crossing and resident Steve Webber captured a close up of the locomotive in action.
