RISING river levels caused by snowfall have prompted several flood alerts to be issued across the county.
The Environment Agency currently has alerts in place for:
- River Cherwell from Lower Heyford to Oxford
- River Evenlode from Moreton in Marsh to Cassington
- River Glyme at Wootton and Woodstock
- River Ray and its tributaries from Shipton Lee to Islip
- River Thame and Chalgrove Brook
Water levels are starting to fall and there is no risk of property flooding, but flooding of low-lying land is a risk.
The alerts state: "Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings, flood waters may be deep and fast flowing."
Alerts are expected to remain in place until this evening, when the EA will reassess river levels and the risk of flooding.
