MOTORISTS are being warned to slow down on icy roads after this driver in Wheatley had a lucky escape this morning.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene on Sworford Lane after the motorist lost control and the vehicle flipped over, ending up on the grass verge.
A spokesman for South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) confirmed the male driver escaped unharmed.
The single-vehicle collision happened shortly before 7.30am at the top of the hill near the Little Milton turnoff.
Delays are expected.
Take extra care this morning as it is icy in our region. The driver of this car in rural Oxfordshire had a lucky escape earlier & was uninjured. Slow down #DriveToArrive @tvprp @OxonFireRescue @HantsPolRoads @RBFRS @Bucksfire @Hants_fire pic.twitter.com/uCPXGeuA78

The SCAS spokesperson added: “The car had rolled over and the road was very icy.
“The driver was only travelling at around 30mph and he still lost control.
“The councils can’t grit every road, particularly rural roads, so we would urge drivers that when we do get freezing temperatures overnight to take extra care and just slow down.”
