A DRIVER was taken to hospital after a car and lorry crashed on the M40.

The crash happened at about 2.40pm this afternoon on the northbound carriageway, between junction 10 (Cherwell Valley Services) and 11 (Banbury).

South Central Ambulance Service said the driver of the car was taken to the Horton General Hospital with minor injuries.

SCAS spokesman David Gallagher said it 'appeared the car had struck the lorry from behind'.

Paramedics also attended a four-vehicle crash on the M40 this afternoon, just outside the Oxfordshire border.

Mr Gallagher said no-one was injured in the crash, which happened at about 1.41pm at Shotteswell near Banbury.
