A TEENAGER chased down a man while carrying a knife before stabbing him in a late-night attack, a court has heard.

Elliot Ashman, of Withycombe Drive, Banbury, carried out the alleged attack , Oxford Crown Court heard as his trial began yesterday, just one week after punching another man and threatening his friend with a blade.

The 19-year old denies one count of assault by beating one man and threatening another with a bladed article on the night of April 27.

He also denies one count of having a bladed article and wounding with intent on the night of May 2.

Prosecuting, Anthony Heaton-Armstrong told the jury of five women and seven men that the first incident in April took place at Prescott Avenue, Banbury at about 7.30pm.

Ashman, he alleged, chased down two men before punching one of them a number of times and threatening the other with a knife before leaving the scene.

The second incident is alleged to have taken place at Withycombe Drive, Banbury, at about 8.30pm in which Ashman allegedly chased down his victim before stabbing him.

Ashman, the court heard, claims that he never intended to cause serious injury to his alleged victim and denies all charges.

The trial continues.
