BOTTLED water is being handed out to dozens of homes in Oxford left without water for more than seven hours.

A total of 25 homes in Stowford Road, Barton, have been without supply after the main burst at 6.30am.

Thames Water is now on site but spokeswoman Becky Trotman warned this afternoon: "The repairs are likely to go on for a lot longer yet as we’ve got to dig under a wall."

However she added: "The customers won’t have to wait that long for their water to come back on as we’re putting a temporary pipe in place that should get them back to normal very soon."

The company apologised to everyone affected.
