THE number of university students choosing to come to Oxford by coach seems to have rocketed by a third.

Coach company National Express says the number of people catching its Oxford Brookes University service rose by 38 per cent this September compared to the same month in 2016.

The trend seems to have been repeated across the country with a 12 per cent national increase in people using the firm’s university services.

National Express said students were taking advantage of cheap travel (with adult single fares to Oxford Brookes from London starting at £16), free power sockets and free wifi.
