MOTORISTS may have encountered eagles, bears and the odd dragon on their daily commute recently.
Wood carver Woodrow Beeching has been stunning Oxfordshire drivers with his lifelike creations from a makeshift workshop on the side of the A44, near the Peartree Hill roundabout.
The 42-year-old said: "I've attended festivals but I find the roadside is a great place to showcase my work because of the thousands of people who go past everyday."
The father of two's intricate figures can take anything from two hours to two weeks to complete.
The former tree surgeon said: "The longest I've ever spent was six weeks on an eagle and that was making sure all the fine details were right."

Mr Beeching's workshop will be in place until the end of the month.
