THREE people were injured in a car crash in which one vehicle flipped onto its roof.

Firefighters freed two people who were trapped in one car before they were taken to hospital yesterday.

They were called to the scene on the A420 near Faringdon at 3.29pm.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue service said they were faced with one car on its roof and another with its roof and front window destroyed.

Three people were injured in total, but two neded to be cut free from the overturned car.

Crews used specialist cutting equipment to access the injured driver and passenger while paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service assessed the severity of their injuries.

Incident Commander Watch Manager Harris said: "Fortunately all occupants were wearing seatbelts, if they had not been the injuries sustained could have been far worse.

"I would also like to take this opportunity to remind people of the dangers posed by wet roads and to ensure you reach your destination safely."
