A MAN has been charged with a drug offence after 10kgs of cocaine was found in a car near Banbury.

Thames Valley Police charged John Brayley, aged 35, of Hollington Way, Shirley, Solihull, on Tuesday with one count of possession with intent to supply class A drugs - cocaine.

Officers found the 10kgs of cocaine in the car at junction 11 of the M40 on Tuesday.

The drugs are thought to be worth almost £1m if they had been sold on the street.

Following an investigation, the force has now decided to charge Mr Brayley with the offence.

He was remanded in custody overnight and then appeared at Banbury Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

At the magistrates' court he was further remanded and will next appear at Oxford Crown Court on Friday October 6.
