SCORES of people enjoyed stepping back in time to enjoy the Shelswell festival and learn about the history of the village near Bicester.
MP Victoria Prentis was among those enjoying the festival last weekend as she opened the event.
She said: “Having grown up in the area, I am proud of North Oxfordshire’s history.
“Events like this allow for both education and community spirit.
“It was a pleasure opening the festival and meeting all the volunteers who put an enormous amount of hard work into the weekend.”
Volunteers staged the festival as a nod to the area’s heritage and it included a host of re-enactments, talks and tours.
