THE much-anticipated launch of a zip wire at a Marston park has hit a slight delay after contractors agreed to spruce up the grounds free of charge before starting work.
Builders are now poised to begin work at the Croft Road Recreation Ground on the week of Easter bank holiday.
Contractors Rinksi will first tidy up the Marston park in preparation for the two-week long construction period.
Marston councillor Mick Haines, who secured the funding for the £5,000 zip wire, said: “They will be in after the Easter holiday.
“I am looking forward to it being finished and I think the kids will love it once its up and running.
“The contractors are sprucing up the ground free of charge and it will look great once they are finished.”
He added that Marston needed community facilities and that it was a welcome addition to the area.
Construction is expected to begin on April 18 and will last two weeks, once the ground maintenance is complete.
