AN ELDERLY man was taken to hospital with head injuries today after suffering a medical episode at the wheel and hitting a van.
The incident took place at about 10.30am on the A420 near Longworth village. It involved a Skoda and a Ford.
South Central Ambulance Service spokesman David Gallagher said: "This was an accident between a car and a van that we received a 999 call about at 10.36am.
"The car driver was an elderly male who sustained a head injury and he was taken to the John Radcliffe.
"We had just the one ambulance at the scene."
The A420 was closed both ways between the B4508 at Pusey and the Longworth turnoff at Pine Woods Road.
All lanes have now re-opened and traffic is easing.
