THE LAST big weekend of festivals for Oxfordshire kicked off yesterday in glorious sunshine as the first punters flocked to Towersey Festival near Thame.
The festival, which continues today and tomorrow, this year features Billy Bragg, Midge Ure and Kate Rusby.
Alex James's Big Feastival at his farm in West Oxfordshire also opened yesterday with sets from indie startlet Foxes and a DJ set by Mark Ronson.
There is more sweet music today from grime king Tinie Tempah, salsa serenaders the Cuban Brothers and, bizarrely, some kind of show from Dick and Dom (formerly of Da Bungalow).
Meanwhile in Nuneham Courtenay, South Oxfordshire, Peace in the Park festival is Oxfordshire's biggest meditation gathering of the year.
Set in the beautiful stately grounds of Nuneham Courtenay's Global Retreat Centre, the weekend line-up ranges from laughter yoga to mass meditation sessions and "kids' relaxations in the chill out den".
Tomorrow, hundreds of people are set to flock to this year's Big Lunch in Wolvercote, help re-chalk the White Horse in Uffington or play a game of Foot Sally at the Chequers pub in Headington.
