A SIX-YEAR-OLD from Abingdon has taken one of Britain's best-loved fashion 'icons' to new heights for charity.

Bali Ashworth, 6, joined Ruby Koopman, 6, from Leeds, in being transformed into Patsy and Eddie from Absolutely Fabulous to launch Oxfam's new fundraising event, Dressed by the Kids Day.

The national day on Friday, April 29 will dare the nation to put youngseres in charge of their wardrobe for a day, in exchange for sponsorship.

Bali and Ruby were among five 'junior stylists' selected following a nationwide search by Oxford-based charity Oxfam to find the faces of Dressed by the Kids Day.

Entrants were asked to submit a short video describing their favourite fancy dress outfit.

Bali, a pupil at Rush Common Primary School, said: "It was really fun getting the chance to dress up as Eddie and pull funny poses.

"I can't wait to dress my mummy and daddy up for Dressed by the Kids Day. I think I've already decided what I want them to wear."

Tim Hunter, Oxfam Head of Fundraising, said “Dressed by the Kids Day is a fun initiative with children at its very heart. We were blown away by the adorable entries to our competition and we hope that the nation will be inspired by these kids to get involved on April 29 and help Oxfam’s fight against poverty.”
