A 33-year-old man has been jailed for more than three years for burglary.
Wayne Ronald Axtell, of Park Close, Yarnton, was found guilty by a majority verdict at Oxford Crown Court yesterday following a one day trial.
Axtell was sentenced to three years and three months’ imprisonment at the same court appearance.
The charge relates to an offence on March 11 between 12.45pm and 3pm in Finmore Road, Botley, when the back door of a home was smashed in and items including a laptop and clothing were stolen.
Investigating officer, PC Rob Turpin from Abingdon CID, said: "Wayne Axtell is a prolific offender and we are very pleased with this sentence. I hope this helps the victim come to terms with the incident and put the matter behind her."
